Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery can successfully improve pain, discomfort and embarrassment that is frequently associated with large breasts. Mr Floyd uses a supero-medial pedicle with either the ‘inverted T’ or the vertical scar technique depending on the individual characteristics of the breast.

A 30 yr old patient who was 30GG and complained of back ache. She had a reduction by Mr Floyd and is now a 30DD, the back pain has resolved. The second picture was taken 4 months after surgery.

A 46 yr old lady was 30F with painful and heavy breasts. She had a reduction by David Floyd and is now a 32C. The second picture was taken 8 months following surgery.

A 41 yr old lady was 32DD with neck and back pain. She had a reduction by Mr Floyd and is now 32C. Her neck and back pain has resolved. The second picture was taken 6 months after surgery.

This 46yo was 32H cup with a marked asymmetry. She had a reduction and correction of asymmetry by Mr Floyd and is now 32E cup. Second image was taken at 6 months.

This 20yo was 28G cup with asymmetry. She had a reduction by Mr Floyd and is now a 28D cup. Second image was taken at 9 months post-op.

Breast reduction – what you need to know

Length of surgery 2-3 hours

Frequent Complications Bruising, swelling, change in nipple sensation, temporary numbness
Infrequent Complications Infection, delayed wound healing, bleeding(haematoma), nipple necrosis, asymmetry, poor scarring,
Recovery 5-7 days before socialising with friends and family
7-10 days off work
1st dressing at 1 week
driving 2 weeks
return to the gym 6 weeks
travel abroad 3-4 weeks
