What to expect
Yes, all consultations are carried out by Mr Floyd personally. The only time you would be seen by one of his specialist nurses is for preadmission testing (if necessary) or postoperative change of dressings.
We usually allocate 30 minutes for an initial consultation. However, please be aware that Mr Floyd does believe in giving his patients the time they need, and this sometimes results in an appointment taking a little longer than predicted.
In some instances a second preoperative consultation is necessary to ensure that you are fully informed of all aspects of your surgery and postoperative care, and for a final surgical plan to be made. It also gives you the chance to ask any further questions you may have prior to surgery.
Yes, you are welcome to bring a family member or friend with you into the consultation.
If you have private medical insurance it may be necessary to have a GP referral letter under the terms of your policy. Self pay patients do not always require a GP referral letter.
Making an appointment

Waiting times can vary depending on Mr Floyd’s availability but please be aware that there can sometimes be a wait of 4-6 weeks for an initial consultation. If your condition is of an urgent nature we will do all we can to accommodate you as quickly as possible.

Following your initial consultation a detailed quote for surgical fees will be provided. Insured patients will be required to give a procedure code to their insurers, and Mr Floyd’s secretary will advise you of this along with Mr Floyd’s fee once a consultation has taken place.
